Nowadays, penis enlargement surgery is gaining more and more popularity. And this is due to the fact that part of the male population, even without a problem, has complexes about the size of their penis. There are many ways to enlarge the genital organ, however, not all methods provide a long-term effect, unlike surgery.

Is it possible to enlarge the penis surgically
Surgical enlargement of the male genital organ is, of course, possible. The urge to have the operation is not always due to the fact that the problem really exists. Often, owners of quite normal penis sizes can also acquire such complexes. Most men also believe that success in sex and the ability to reproduce directly depends on the value of dignity, however, this is not the case at all.
The normal size of the penis varies from 12 cm to 18 cm in erection. We consider a small penis whose size varies from 9 cm to 12 cm. There are also owners of a micropenis, the length of which is less than 8 cm and can reach 2 cm (in an erect state).
Penis enlargement surgery should have indications and not be performed just because of the man's complexes. In the event that the desire to enlarge the phallus is caused by dissatisfaction with its size, but at the same time its indicators adhere to average values, it is necessary to consult a psychotherapist or sex therapist.
Surgical penis enlargement is only necessary in a few cases:
- Involution of the penis, which is usually characterized by a decrease in muscle tone and tissue elasticity, usually occurs in older people. With the development of involution, the surgeon will not insist on the surgical intervention, and the decision to enlarge the phallus will remain at the discretion of the patient. After all, sexual activity decreases with age, so many older men take this phenomenon absolutely calmly.
- Deformities of acquired organs or intrauterine abnormalities. Birth defects of the male limb include underdevelopment of the spongy urethra, which leads to the curvature of the phallus towards the scrotum (hypospadias).
- Underdevelopment of the urethra (epispadias). Acquired deformities include all kinds of penile injuries of varying severity.
- The micropenis is another of the conditions which involve an increase in the size of the virility by a surgical method.
In the event that the patient wishes to resort to surgery to enlarge the phallus, without any indication, the doctor will most likely try to dissuade him and possibly advise other methods to change the size of the penis.

Among other things, surgical correction and enlargement of a man's phallus is quite an expensive procedure.
Types of operations
There are several ways to enlarge the male genitalia:
Falloprosthetics
Falloprothetics involves the implantation of a prosthesis into a man's penis. This type of surgical intervention is quite serious, since the organ is disassembled and then assembled into several parts. Usually, the falloprosthesis is performed only if there are indications, when no conventional means can cope with the situation. Before the operation, the patient will have to go to the hospital several times for an examination and necessary tests. This type of surgery not only helps to solve the problem of missing centimeters of a man's penis, but also to cope with erectile dysfunction, which makes falloprosthetics very popular among men, despite the high cost of loperation and its pain.
The essence of this method is that special devices are implanted in the cavernous bodies of the penis. This method is performed exclusively under general anesthesia.
There are three types of stent grafts - semi-rigid, hydraulic and rigid.
Rigid penile prostheses are less expensive than hydraulic and semi-rigid prostheses; however, they are not as popular and are rarely used in surgery. This is due to the fact that this type of stent does not have plastic memory and cannot change the degree of its rigidity either. As a result, it turns out that a man constantly has an erection imitation.
In the case of a semi-rigid phalloprosthesis (monobloc), its rigidity is also preserved. But the difference between a one-component prosthesis and a rigid prosthesis is that a semi-rigid prosthesis consists of two silicone cylinders, which are equipped with a wire and a rod. Thanks to this design, the phallus can be held in the required position by changing it with the hand.
But the largest number of positive reviews is used by hydraulic, that is, inflatable (three-component) phalloprostheses. This stent has the following structure - two cylinders, which are interconnected by a special pump, and there is also a fluid reservoir. During penile prostheses, these cylinders are implanted in the cavernous body of the penis and the pump is placed in the scrotum of the man. The reservoir is placed in the area behind the pubic bone.
To get an erection, you need to press the pump several times. Thus, the liquid previously contained in the reservoir moves in the cylinders and thus increases their rigidity. As soon as it is necessary to eliminate the state of erection, it is necessary to bend the penis and wait for complete relaxation. At this point, the liquid returns to the reservoir. The falloprosthesis with hydraulic implants is the most expensive, but offers a more natural and natural physiological appearance, even at rest.
In any case, a phalloprosthesis for each patient is selected individually, taking into account all the features of the physical structure and only after undergoing a comprehensive examination of the whole organism. It is not an uncommon case where consultation with other narrow specialists is necessary.

As mentioned above, falloprosthesis is a fairly serious procedure, during and after which various complications can arise. That is why the desire to increase one's dignity is not enough, any clinic will undertake this operation only if there are serious indications. It is possible that the implant simply will not take root and the body will do everything possible to move it, including through the urethra, the crown of the head. In addition to displacement, torsion and fracture of the prosthesis are possible. As a result of the compression, the patient may have necrosis of the genital organ or skin, a lesion of the epithelium that covers the foreign body. Among the complications can also be distinguished: the development of inflammatory processes; hematoma of the penis, edema, painful postoperative conditions, decreased sensitivity of the organ; urination problems. During intercourse, displacement or violation of the integrity of implants, as well as pain and discomfort, is possible.
Lipofilling
Lipofilling refers to minimally invasive plastic surgery. And it has a number of advantages over the method described above, however, it is more aimed at increasing not the length of the phallus, but its thickness.

Lipofilling involves the introduction of biomaterial (fatty tissue of the patient) under the skin of the penis, so in addition to this procedure, it is necessary to perform liposuction. The use of the patient's fat cells often excludes the presence of allergic reactions, however, this can lead to inflammatory processes.
Lipofilling is carried out in several stages:
- First, liposuction is performed. That is, the required amount of biomaterial is pumped out of the patient's abdomen, legs or buttocks.
- After that, the fatty tissue undergoes a procedure of cleansing from all kinds of harmful components.
- The next step is to fill the penis with fat cells. This happens with an injection syringe and a microcannula. Fat is injected along the entire length of the penis.
- At the end of the operation, a bandage is applied to the patient.
In the postoperative period, several recommendations should be followed: it is undesirable to visit saunas, swimming pools and other bodies of water, you should refrain from privacy. Following these simple rules will only bring you closer to a positive outcome.
Lipofilling is relevant when:
- The patient is quite satisfied with the length, but he is not satisfied with the diameter of the penis, that is, congenital thinness (including if this results from an independent enlargement of the organ at theusing an expander).
- Due to the physiological characteristics of the partner, her vagina is too large.
- There is erectile dysfunction, which is not caused by physiological, but psychological abnormalities and is associated with dissatisfaction with the importance of a man's self-esteem.
- Congenital or traumatic asymmetry of the phallus.
- Restoration of the aesthetic appearance after removal of silicone implants.
- The patient has a micropenis.
Lipofilling has several advantages:

- General anesthesia is not necessary.
- Rehabilitation after the procedure is not long and only takes a few days.
- Long-term effect, and although doctors do not guarantee a lifetime increase, the size remains for a long time.
- The procedure has practically no contraindications.
- If the need arises, the surgeon can always correct the shape of the penis.
- A significant price difference compared to penile prostheses.
Regardless of whether the bruises and swelling that arose during the operation disappear within three days, the final result is evaluated only after one week.
However, even such a seemingly positive operation has a number of complications and contraindications from all sides.
The following complications can occur after lipofilling:
- painful sensations when urinating are possible;
- in the place where the biomaterial was injected, sometimes pigmentation of the skin occurs;
- swelling of the penis and legs;
- rarely, but it happens that the fatty tissue is not evenly distributed throughout the entire male organ, but it is lumps under the skin, and asymmetric enlargement of the penis is also possible;
- scarring of cavernous tissue;
- accumulation of purulent fluid under the skin in the groin and penis;
- inflammation of the lymph nodes in the groin area.

If the patient has any complications, you should immediately consult a doctor. The specialist will prescribe either drug treatment or a correction of the shape (depending on the problem posed).
Lipofilling is contraindicated for people suffering from diabetes mellitus, vascular and arterial diseases, the presence of deformity of the penis (congenital or acquired), infections of the urethra, the presence of sexually transmitted diseases, oncology, rashes on the penis. Also, lipofilling is not for people with weakened immunity and mental disabilities.
It is important to choose a good, proven clinic for this type of surgery. The desire to save money can lead to serious consequences.
Ligamentotomy
The male reproductive system is designed so that as blood rushes to the penis, the ligament in the pubic area begins to constrict the organ, causing it to rise.
The essence of a ligamentotomy is to cut this ligament (ligament), thereby moving the penis away from the pubic bone to which it is attached, which will increase.
However, penis enlargement is not about having the surgeon cut the ligament, but how the ligament will then grow together. As soon as the ligament is cut, the phallus is bent and stretched, and the inside of it is pulled out of the pelvic region and fixed.
Thus enlarged, the result depends on both the plastic surgeon and the patient. A man will have to stretch his penis with an extender for 14 days. Thanks to the ligamentotomy procedure, it is easy to add the desired 3 to 5 centimeters to the manhood. The result of the ligamentotomy lasts a lifetime, because if the ligament grows together in a similar position, nothing will return to its original position.

The ligamentotomy is performed either under general anesthesia or under spinal anesthesia. The process itself lasts 30 minutes, and the rehabilitation takes two weeks. However, we can only talk about the final result six months later, when the ligament is completely invaded.
The main advantage of ligamentotomy is that, as such, the operation does not lead to complications and does not affect a man's sexual health in any way.
Ligamentotomy, like phalloprosthesis, is performed only for medical reasons, but this operation has been performed repeatedly, simply according to the wishes of the patient.
Microsurgical muscle transplantation
The essence of the method is that the patient's penis is wrapped in musculo-skin flaps, after making an incision around its base and lowering the skin. The operation lasts 2-3 hours, under general anesthesia, and when completed, the patient's organ immediately becomes noticeably thicker, by about 3-4 centimeters.
The biomaterial for transplantation is taken from the operated person, from the abdominal wall or the armpit area.
Postoperative rehabilitation lasts 4 to 6 weeks; a man can leave the hospital after 5-7 days.

The own skin roots quite well, which excludes a number of possible complications, in addition to painful sensations.
Muscle transplants are rare. This is due to the high cost of this service.
Possible complications
Complications after plastic surgery can arise both in case of medical error, and in case of irresponsible attitude to the recommendations of the rehabilitation period.
The most common complications are:
- deformation of the male genital organ;
- change in the angle of erection;
- shortening of the penile shaft;
- erectile dysfunction;
- decreased sensitivity of the male penis.
It will not be possible to completely avoid the appearance of complications after an increase in the phallus of a man. However, you should carefully choose a clinic for this procedure, since 80% of the result depends on it.
